My 4-Step A.M. Skincare Routine

Skincare is such a personal thing. Not having the proper skincare regime for your skin type has its consequences. Here is my A.M. skincare routine that works for my dry skin

Step 1: Cleanser- Fresh Beauty Sugar Strawberry Exfoliating Face Wash

The Fresh Beauty Sugar Strawberry Exfoliating Face Wash has been my go-to cleanser because it’s a daily dual-action scrub that cleanses and exfoliates while refining the look of pores. Personally, I find that massaging the face wash on my damp skin and rinse it off with warm water helps to reveal a smooth and brighter-looking complexion.

Step 2: Toner - The Ordinary Gycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution

Toner is an important second step of my skincare routine that many people choose to leave out. A good toner will remove any oil and dirt left behind in the cleansing step and will help restore your skin’s pH balance. I love to use The Ordinary Gycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution as it is an effective, affordable and gentle toner. I apply the toner by saturating a cotton pad with the solution and sweeping it over my face. After just a few uses, I have noticed a more even complexion and a reduction in the Milia around my nose.

Step 3: Moisturizer- Olehenriksen Banana Bright Under Eye Crème, Fresh Beauty Rose Deep Hydration Cream and Rosé Toronto Organic Face Oil

Olehenriksen Banana Bright Under Eye Crème

Fresh Beauty Rose Deep Hydration Face Cream

The first product I use to moisturize is the Olehenriksen Banana Bright Under Eye Crème. This is a lightweight vitamin-C enriched eye cream that is perfect for the morning. I tend to wake up with dry and discoloured under eyes and this cream reduces dark circles, hydrates and brightens. My favourite thing is to apply this prior to make-up, as it helps reduce creasing when applying concealer. As the skin tissue under our eyes is delicate, I recommend using your ring finger (the weakest finger to use on delicate skin) to apply the Olehenriksen Banana Bright Crème.

The next product tackles the rest of my face. I use the Fresh Beauty Rose Deep Hydration Face Cream to help combat my dry skin. This is a lightweight, gel-cream that contains hyaluronic acids to deliver intense hydration. It leaves your skin feeling moisturized and smooth, which is what I look for in a cream. I apply a few pea-sized dots all over my face and massage it in using circular motions.

As a final moisturizer, the Rosé Toronto Organic Face Oil is one of my holy grails. I love this oil because it contains rosehip oil, which hydrates and brightens the skin. I typically use the Organic Face Oil under make-up because it helps with the longevity of make-up, deeply moisturizes the skin and keeps my skin looking hydrated throughout the day. I like to apply 2 drops directly to the top of my cheeks and pat it into my skin. I also wear the oil on its own and it makes my skin look smooth and dewy.

Step 4: Sunscreen- Neutrogena Sheer Water-Light Face Sunscreen

The final step in my A.M. skincare routine and one that I will never forget is sunscreen. No matter the weather, sunscreen is an absolute must. Neutrogena Sheer Water-Light Face Sunscreen has a lightweight, non-greasy formula that is perfect for daily use. I love that it feels like silk on the skin and that I can wear make-up over top of it. It is also reassuring to know it doesn’t give you flashback.
